Hello World (for the nth time)

January 16, 2019 | Comments

My therapist told me to write a journal so that I could solidify my thoughts. Maybe, if I write things down, I could get a better sense of my self. So I’m going to start. I’ve written on this blog many, many, many times that I’ve hesitated writing in a physical journal in fear of my mother reading it. She has read my journal in the past (recently too, within the past two years and I’m sure many times before that) and confronted me about it.

Year of Projects: Year 8 Week 2

January 15, 2019 | Comments

Year of Projects Year of Projects is a group on Ravelry where members share and update each other on the progress of their knitting, crochet, cross stitch, or other crafty projects. Book Review: The Years by Virginia Woolf

January 14, 2019 | Comments

The Hours by Virginia Woolf As the Pargiters, a middle-class English family, move from the oppressive confines of the Victorian home of the 1880s to the ‘present day’ of the 1930s, they are weighed down by the pressures of war, the social strictures of patriarchy, capitalism and Empire, and the rise of Fascism. Engaging with a painful struggle between utopian hopefulness and crippled with despair, the novel is a savage indictment of Virginia Woolf’s society, but its bitter sadness is relieved by the longing for some better way of life, where `freedom and justice’ might really be possible.

FO: Ribbed Winter Hat

FO stands for “finished object.” It is a term used by knitters and crocheters. Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Pattern: Ribbed Winter Hat Ribbed Winter Hat This was a toque (I don’t know why Americans insist on using “hat” for anything you put on your head) I made for my dad. I was really pleased with it but the top of it is a little weird.

FO: Fruit Faerie Magic Scarf

January 13, 2019 | Comments

FO stands for “finished object.” It is a term used by knitters and crocheters. Yarn: Caron Cake (Fruit Cobbler) Pattern: Faerie Magic Infinity Scarf Faerie Magic Infinity Scarf I started this one back in June last year for my cousin. I made the WIP post but I never made the FO post. I didn’t end up making it an infinity scarf, just left it as a plain old scarf.
