Konmari Step 2: Books

February 7, 2019 | Comments

In continuing my quest to downsize before I move out, I move onto the next KonMari category: books. My bookshelf before All my books are in the basement. We moved them down here a couple years ago. It’s amazing how when I was younger, having a bookshelf in my room didn’t take up so much space. We keep a lot of random things in the basement so I ended up sifting through a lot of unrelated items.

Konmari Step 1: Clothes

February 5, 2019 | Comments

I’ve been trying to use the KonMari method for about two years now. In my previous attempts, I’ve managed to get through my clothes and books and then I stop there. I find it hard to write non-fiction book “reviews” that aren’t longer than a paragraph. Initially I just decided I wouldn’t review them. But I still feel like I should have something to show for it.

I Just Culled My Book Wish List

December 7, 2016 | Comments

On Goodreads, my “want-to-own” shelf used to have 127 books in it. Now it has five. Recently I’ve been bit by the konmari bug. I’ve konmari’d my wardrobe and my books so far. I’m still stuck on the books. I decided it would be fitting to prevent my book collection from growing back to it’s ridiculous size and get rid of anything that doesn’t spark joy on my book wish list.
