My 2020

Day 8 of 100 Days to Offload

The Last Two Years Sucked

The last time I did a year in review post was in 2018. I didn’t do one in 2019 because I was not in a good place to think about my blog. You can see most of the posts in 2019 were automatically generated and I gave up half way through the year.

2020 wasn’t any better. It was traumatic. Just a tad. On multiple fronts. It’s crazy how fast the year flew by but also how slow it seemed to crawl.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t one of the more disciplined ones to make the best of “quarantine.” There were times my anxiety got the best of me. I’ve never gotten into such bouts of anxiety before. And every time I seemed to reset on my progress.

The bright side of 2020, was meeting my current group of friends, a tight knit circle of fountain pen nerds. Discord calls every day (I legitimately think we have been video calling every day ever since March and I might have missed a handful of the calls) helped keep me from spiraling into too deep of a hole.

Anyway. Since I got my new Hobonichi Cousin planner, I decided to share my 2020 spread.

On the Topic of Resolutions…

I tooted about resolutions on Fosstodon and got a great reply from @ndanes about using themes in place of resolutions. This was after I wrote out my spread, haha. But after reading the blog posts and the video I came up with my own themes for the year.

My theme for 2020 will be mindfulness.

What does that mean? I want to pay attention, really pay attention, to the choices I make. From the food I eat, to the things I spend money on, to how I spend my time. It’s really broad but from the CP Grey video @ndanes linked me, broad is good. That means there are many ways to achieve the same thing.

2021, the year of mindfulness.
